Mindfulness: Getting your mindset in the game
4 week programme

This 4-week mindfulness workshop is grounded in sport psychology, positive psychology, yoga, and motivation, showing students how to train their minds the same way athletes train their bodies.
Life as a student can feel intense at different stages:
- TY – socially busy, fast-paced, and full of new experiences
- Exam years – pressure, expectations, and exam-related stress
- First year – the challenge of starting something completely new
- 2nd & 5th year – heavy workloads, deadlines, and project-based learning
This programme helps students slow down during busy periods, refocus when it matters most, and perform under pressure.
Think about a rugby player lining up a kick in Aviva Stadium, with over 50,000 people screaming, cheering, and booing. How do they block out the noise and hit the target?

Learning Outcome
Mindfulness is the ability to hold your focus on one thing, without being pulled away by internal thoughts or external distractions. It’s a skill used by elite athletes, professionals, and high performers to stay calm, sharp, and in control.
For students, mindfulness can become a secret weapon:
-
Bringing focus back when stress takes over
-
Managing pressure during exams, class tests and project deadlines
-
Improving confidence, motivation, and emotional regulation
-
Strengthening attention
-
Performing better when it matters most
Content:
The key is practice, the more you use mindfulness, the more powerful it becomes. Hence why this is a 4-week programme.
And mindfulness isn’t just sitting in silence or doing breathwork. Over this fun, engaging 4-week module, students will explore:
- Week 1: What mindfulness is and how it works
